Great Britain face Serbia in the Davis Cup quarter-finals today, and Cameron Norrie has the unenviable task of trying to overcome Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic has won three of this year’s four grand slams – only losing out to Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final – and will be keen to end the year with another trophy, having not lifted the Davis Cup since 2010.
Britain not only have the world No 2 to contend with, but their own injury problems as well. Andy Murray – who was in line to play Djokovic for the first time since 2017 – has been ruled out with a shoulder problem, and Dan Evans is out with a calf issue.
The winners will join Finland and Australia in the semi-finals. Finland shocked Canada to end their title defence, while Australia battled back from a match down to defeat Czechia on Wednesday.
